Sculpting the Road To Golf Excellence Golf Coach 101

Santa Rosa, CA. ~ With 2019 now gone from sight, this new day is time for a sharper focus. If you want to paint a picture or build a bridge to a better
world,
who’s to stop you? If you’ve done time in the trenches,
the
sky is the limit. Finding art in all that we see and do is the beginning of a new journey, so why not on a golf course? They talk
of wizards and magicians on the links, legends of the royal and ancient ways; and each one of us possesses the wand with which to create an empire. Going forward, let us con- tinue to work as artists forging
the sharper blade of creativity upon life’s generous anvil. Why not see the golf course as an alchemist’s laboratory or an artist’s cave? Golf to me is a bit more like sculpture in the sense that we are always chip- ping away at our rough edges and hoping
to
find a smoother and more pol- ished
vehicle
for our dreams to take flight in. Learning to love the process as much as the
end result should be our goal because that is what we are called to do if we truly love this game.
Golf is indeed of equal parts
feel and technique. You might be a mechanic on the golf
course but if you’re not an art- ist you are missing the point. Trusting in the unknown never comes easy to us but that is the spirit calling to us behind slen- der blades of grass growing to- wards the setting sun. And if you can’t do art, go fly a kite, do yoga or tai chi, throw a Fris- bee for your dog to chase, go to the gym, take a long walk or climb a mountain.
In my humble opinion, art does imitate
life and golf
trumps them both. So when we are busy putting together our fantastic blueprints for a new year, let us not forget the powers of the wizard that each one of us holds like a magic

wand in our hands. Feel the force; don’t force the feel, if you wish to become an adept in the craft. With goals should come
affirmations, strategies and commitment to seizing
the
day and seeing the world in a much different way. If you want to raise your game to the next level, pick up the artist’s brush. Use bold colors and broad strokes as you paint a brighter picture and stay down long enough to see that golf ball traveling to exotic desti- nations.
