Healdsburg, CA. ~ The Healdsburg Community Band (HCB) rings in the 2019 hol- iday season with two perfor- mances this year, featuring traditional carols mixed with holiday themed compositions from such varied


choices


as: Mannheim Steamroller, Tschaikowsky, Bizet, Leroy Anderson, Richard Carpenter and others. The first will take place Sunday, December 8, 3:00PM at The Healdsburg Community Church, 1100 University Ave., Healdsburg. The second concert will take place Saturday, December 14,


7:00PM at the Cloverdale Veterans Memorial Hall, 205 W. First St., Cloverdale. Gary Johnson will be guest conduc- tor for both performances. Ad- mission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted. “This holiday season is extra-spe- cial for obvious reasons, and we are thrilled invite local communities to join us in cel- ebration through music,” said Dave Brandt, HCB president. “We would love to have ev- eryone be part of our 37th sea- son.” The Healdsburg Community Band is all-volunteer, com-


prised of about 50 musicians who get together for the joy of making music and serving the community. The not-for-profit organization supports music at Healdsburg High School with scholarships and equipment purchases, and the band in- cludes high school musicians. New members are encour-


aged to join if they play or used to play an instrument. There are no auditions, but applicants should have basic ability to read music. Band members have a range of skill levels. www.healdsburgcom- munityband.org.
