Theatre’s open call for sponsors
Coventry businesses have been invited to back the redevelopment of the city’s Belgrade Theatre. The theatre is hoping to
raise £600,000 towards a £4.8m scheme to bring it up date. Phase one of the project – to refurbish the main auditorium – has just been completed. However, phase two of the
scheme – to redevelop the café and first floor Burbidge Room – needs more money, which is why the theatre is asking businesses to step in. Among ways businesses can
help is through the ‘Sponsor a Step’ scheme, which will involve a new staircase that will be a centrepiece of the redeveloped café. Helen Hotchkiss, head of
development at the Belgrade Theatre, said: “We are all very excited about 2021 and Coventry’s year as UK City of Culture. The Belgrade Theatre will play a major role in the year and also the legacy that it leaves. That is why this is the perfect time for our redevelopment to take place because we are striving to become even more sustainable into 2021 and beyond. “But we can’t do it without
the help of our wonderful supporters and we are keen to engage with more businesses who can both back our cause and also raise their own profile with us.”
The doctor is in: new tenant at Wesleyan HQ
Financial services mutual Wesleyan has welcomed a new tenant into its headquarters at Colmore Circus Queensway, Birmingham. Private healthcare firm Doctors Clinic Group has launched a new clinic in the building– the firm’s first outside of London. The clinic will provide all the services which are
usually obtained at a doctor’s clinic, including general health checks, blood tests, medications and certificates.
‘Launching into Birmingham is a big moment for us as it means we can expand nationally’
The company itself was launched by Dr Seth Rankin
five years ago, as a response to the difficulties of getting a doctor’s appointment at a convenient time and place. Since then, Doctors Clinic Group has grown to 15 clinics in greater London as well as expanding into
the corporate market, and now treats more than 1,000 patients every week. Group chief executive David Mezher now aims to
replicate this success outside of London. “Launching into Birmingham is a big moment for us
as it means we can expand nationally to meet the huge demand for convenient access to GPs and other medical services across the UK,” he said. “Doctors Clinic Group now offers over 35 services -
ranging from standard GP appointments and screenings to women’s health (including maternity risk assessment) to virtual GP and corporate well-being services. “Mental health will be a focus area, with employees
having access to psychiatrists through face-to-face or video appointments. “It is a very exciting time in the company’s growth,
and we look forward to helping patients in a bigger way than ever before.”

depend on, and the modern living environments which a new generation of discerning students are demanding. “The design, fit-out, and amenities of this new breed of student residential schemes are unrecognisable to those who lived in bleak halls of residence, or overcrowded house shares while
studying.Vita Student is at the vanguard of providing this style of accommodation and we’ve established a great relationship with the company while working on multiple projects through its framework.” Vita managing director Max
Biebly said: “It’s fantastic to open the doors to our first Vita Student scheme in Birmingham. It’s an exceptional residence to add to our portfolio.”
