springs was the perfect place to stop and camp on our trip
down the frigid East Fork Carson River. While paddling class 2 & 3 rapids in the heat of the summer, we enjoyed picturesque views of the still snow-capped Sierras
in the

ABOUT EAST FORK CARSON RIVER:
The East Fork Carson River is the largest tributary of the Carson River, flowing through California and Ne- vada in the western United States. The north-flow- ing river is 61 miles long
and drains a mostly rural, mountainous water- shed of 392 square miles. The river originates at So- nora
Peak, in the Sierra
Nevada in Alpine County, California.
The headwa-
ters of the river are in the Carson-Iceberg Wilderness of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
