…Ram Roasting Fair
A delight to all who watch, is to see the formations of ribbons created by the maypole dancers
Dancers, the genuine Victorian swinging boats and re-introduced from years ago, 2019 saw the return of the sheepdog displays rounding up the runner ducks. Children below the age of five years, joined a Teddy Bears’ Picnic within the History Garden. The real ale and cider tent as always, was a great success. Sporting events for all ages always bring out the competitiveness of our local visitors, which brings a lot of fun and enjoyment to the day. In the Senior Citizen’s Club, music, refreshments
and cakes are enjoyed by all who sought some relaxation from the lawn’s events. Most of all, we have to appreciate all of the time and
effort of the Ram Roasting Fair Committee who work tirelessly throughout the year to ensure that this event continues annually for the people of our Town. Also, thanks and appreciation must go to our local businesses and individuals who assist by sponsoring the event by contributing items, such as the rams, the raffle prizes and printing of the programme among others, as without their support the day would not happen. Hopefully with the support of the visitors, the traditional event will continue in the future!
