Nights are informal and fun gatherings where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, and thoughts, anything they are passionate about, in the PechaKucha 20x20 format. Presentations have 20 images, each for 20 seconds, for a total of only 6 minutes, 40 seconds! Many talented people have a project they would like to share, and PechaKucha is the perfect platform to show and share their work!

Christmas Train All Ages

Christmas City Express, written by acclaimed authors Cheryl Skafte and Luke Morovec, is the story of a young girl on a Christmas Eve train trip to visit her grandparents. As the train speeds through the night, a winter blizzard worsens and eventually causes the train to halt in a snowdrift. Will Christmas be saved for the passengers? Will Santa miss them this year? Take a ride on the Christmas City Express, and discover the magic that occurs that night to create a unique and memorable Christmas experience for the passengers.

Breakfast with Santa All Ages

Ho! Ho! Ho! Here comes Santa Claus! He has come to share breakfast with you! Families will be able to see Santa before the entertainment. Santa will talk to each boy and girl, then hand them a present. Bring your camera! Breakfast will be prepared by the Batavia Lions Club and consists of pancakes, sausage, eggs, fruit, coffee, juice and milk. By 9:15 am, Santa will say goodbye then everyone can enjoy a wonderful entertainer and children can participate in the show! Ages 2 and up must register. High chairs are not available. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 am.


*Please note: If registering online, every family member must be registered. Apply the appropriate fee to the first participant, then select “no” for all other family members.

Holiday House Decorating Contest

Show off your holiday spirit and enter Batavia’s Online Holiday House Decorating Contest! All participants will submit a photo of their house, and all displays will be judged by online voting through our Facebook page starting Tuesday, December 10 through noon on December 19. The winner of the People’s Choice award will receive a Batavia Park District prize package. This contest is only for Batavia Park District residents. Addresses of all entries will be published in local media unless specified otherwise at the time of registration.


Photos need to be submitted by Monday, December 9 at 4:00 pm. Please submit all photos to marketing@bataviaparks.org. The winner will be announced on Thursday, December 19.
