INTER-FORM ART COMPETITION


A


s part of the house inter-form competition DDD at the end of Spring term, Year 9 tutor groups


competed to make a collaborative portrait artwork of their beloved form tutors.


Each form member had a section of their form tutors portrait photo to copy. These sections contributed towards the whole class piece (pictured below). Work was judged on the level of drawing skill, observation, team work in piecing the drawing together and overall likeness of the drawing to the relevant tutor.


Sancho were victorious in both years, with 10 Sancho winning with a beautiful likeness of a very happy Mr Eurasie (above), who plans to frame the piece for his home...he must have a large wall space to fill!

t the beginning of Spring term, the ‘Young Artist’s’ enrichment group were set the challenge by Mr Carter and Mr Pitt to re-design and re-launch the praise postcards which staff send home to notify


the parents of students who demonstrate any of the school values to the highest level.


After a number of weeks planning and designing their work, the students submitted their work and a shortlist was created. Mr Carter then made the final judging, selecting 2 postcard designs for each of the 4 values, Ambition, Growth, Fellowship and Scholarship. Mr Carter said of the groups designs: “The quality of work this year was exceptional. It was difficult to pick only one winner from each category. There are some excellent young artists coming up through the school who have produced such thoughtful pieces of work for all to see.” Staff have these professionally printed postcards at their disposal, to reward students and notify parents, so keep your eyes peeled on door mats and letterboxes across the Greenwich borough to see if your child receives such an accolade.
