POETRY CORNER

The city is clean The city is dirty The city is more known The city is less known We all live in a city We all move cities We all love a city We all hate a city We all experience a city We all have conversations about cities We all have books about We all have natural disasters in We all have to travel to a city

We all have a decision if we want to stay or leave No matter what city or conversation If we’re gay or if we’re not We all have Something in common.

JACK PETCHEY REGIONAL FINALS C

ongratulations to Jayden Asare Dompre and Annika Bloomquist (pictured above),

for being selected to represent AGFS in the Regional finals of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.

The competition is the largest public speaking event of its kind. This year the regionals were held at AGFS for the second year running. Pupils from across the country devised a three-minute speech on a chosen topic. Jayden delivered a powerful message about knife crime and

Annika made an impassioned speech on the importance of family.

The event always showcases the immense talent that we have in the school for public speaking. We have a legacy in this competition now which we wish to build upon, to drive up standards of oracy across the whole school in the future.

It was a hugely proud night for everyone connected with AGFS. Special thanks to Ms Reddy for helping to organise the event.
