AGFS: FELLOWSHIP & GROWTH Library

MORNING READING

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A STUDENT LIBRARIAN AT AGFS?

“I have been a student librarian at school since the beginning of Year 8 and it has been enjoyable yet requires hard work and commitment. For example, I’ve been training a junior student librarian for some weeks now, shadowing and guiding them through the training programme as you have to make sure they are trained well enough to become a student librarian; it’s a fantastic experience because apart from teaching another person, you are also reminding yourself of things that you might have forgotten over the course of your training. Another fun part of it is that you get to know students in other year groups who come to the library.

One challenging thing about being a student librarian is remembering the key information of the library because it’s not something you do every day at school, only during your rota, but you get used to it over time. Overall working at the library is a really great thing to do in at school”.

greeted them and talked to them about what it is like to be a student at AGFS before they had a full tour of the site and a meeting with Mr Spiers. We greatly appreciate their time to come and see the school in action.

We received the below feedback following the event:

“We very much enjoyed being shown around The Ark Greenwich Free School, meeting students and Staff.
