A different kind of day care
A day with the Filo Project begins when clients are collected from their own home by a host. Clients will spend the day in the host’s home from approximately 10am-4pm. In this intimate environment, and with group sizes generally limited to a maximum of 4, clients are able to gain confidence, make friends, exchange laughter and share experiences. A home cooked lunch is provided and the day is free flowing, varied and dependent on the personalities, interests and capacities of the clients in each group. The small group size gives time and space for clients to feel at ease and flourish.
Between the approximate hours of 10am-4pm clients enjoy spending the day in the welcoming environment of a host’s home. Apart from having a home-cooked lunch, what occurs in each group varies and depends upon who is in a group and the individual capacities, preferences and personalities. Transport is included which means that even the most rurally located can be supported.
The Filo Project is now recruiting hosts in the South Hams.
