forest & beach explore the outdoors

Remember when how much fun you had as a child was measured by how muddy you were at the end of the day? When jacket potatoes and hot chocolate cooked on a campfire were the best meal ever? And you had time and space and freedom to explore and enjoy the great outdoors in safety… but think those days have gone?

Not at Forest and Beach they ha- ven’t because that is exactly what Pete and Andrea Moore encourage everyone who joins them at their national award winning Centre to do – explore, enjoy, understand and appreciate the natural world all around us in their amazing Swal- lows and Amazons-esque location. Whether working with schools

offering curriculum linked or Forest School op- portunities on a dai- ly or school camp basis or training staff to devel- op and deliver outdoor learning; hosting their fun-with-a-purpose holiday activity days for 4 – 12/13 year olds taking full advantage of their

idyllic ‘forest and beach’ position; or offering team building events for businesses in an inspirational environment, Pete and Andrea’s approach ensures that the sheer joy of spending time with them de- velops into a sense of responsibility for protecting our planet for future generations. Between them the couple have over 30 years’ Primary and specific Forest School teaching experience together with an unbounded passion to share their knowledge and under- standing of our precious environ-

ment. Through Forest and Beach activities, they

and their team offer supervised fun which encourages confidence and self-reliance; developing social, team building and problem solving skills in a real-life outdoor learning space. Having become South West

Regional Winners in the Best Outdoors Recreation or Outdoor Pursuits Business category last year in The Rural Business Awards, they went forward to compete at na-

tional level against major organisa- tions operating at very many times their level. It is testament to their principles, practices and passion that Forest and Beach came away as the national winners. Pete and Andrea have some very

exciting plans for Forest and Beach over the next few years and whilst they are obviously both delighted at their recent success, especially after only having founded Forest and Beach 5 years ago, the rewards that matter most to them are the happy smiling faces of the children who have enjoyed a day of wrap- around-care Forest and Beach style. So if that is how you would like

your Adam Anteater or Molly Meer- kat to spend their free time – or just fancy being a big kid again – why not get in touch for what could be the best time of your lives.
