MORRIS HOSPITAL YORKVILLE

Te Morris Hospital Yorkville Campus, located in

south Yorkville at 105 Saravanos Drive on Route 47, has a new physician - Dr. Shaily Macker in Family Medicine. Dr. Macker, who grew up in India, came to the

United States in 1999. She finished her residency at Akron General Hospital in Ohio and has been practicing medicine for 14 years. She says she loves the diversity in Family Medicine. “It’s challenging, as you don’t know what you

are going to walk into that day,” she says. “Every day is different. I enjoy the learning it brings. I like to take the holistic approach. I also love teaching my patients how to lead a healthy lifestyle by having them actively participate in making informed decisions regarding their health.” She says practicing Family Medicine allows her the

chance to prevent, detect and intervene before patients develop long-term complications from diseases. “It is very rewarding to get to know your patients

and their entire families and develop long-term, trusting relationships with them.” Dr. Macker says she has found Morris Hospital to

be a great place to practice medicine. “With the health industry changing so fast, Morris

Hospital is still a small, family-oriented hospital, with a feel of a close-knit family where you know and support each other. What I appreciate most is that the hospital

really cares about its patients, and provides excellent, compassionate care. Patients aren’t just numbers.” Te Yorkville Campus is open seven days a

week. In addition to Family Medicine, services offered include pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and allergy physicians, immediate care, occupational medicine, physical therapy, laboratory services, X-ray, CT, ultrasound, and mammography. For more information, call 630-553- 8200.
