YORKVILLE CUSD 115 Yorkville Community Unit School District 115, like many school

districts across the nation, is moving through an educational revolution. It’s not just what students learn that is changing, but how they learn, and in turn, how they are taught. Te “sage-on-the-stage” view of teaching—a teacher lecturing in front of a classroom of students—is giving way to a “guide-on-the-side” style that supports a personalized approach. Students are empowered to advocate for their own learning. It is a change in which one’s birthday will not dictate a grade, or the level to which he or she can learn, but the student’s ability and desire to advance in his or her knowledge and career pathway. District 115 is working on a long-term educational facility master

plan called “EVOLUTION 115” that assesses the district’s buildings, enrollment projections, and educational programming to determine how

to use and improve the structure/layout of the district’s schools to support the best practices in teaching and learning. Tis transition allows the district to address its facilities in a holistic and fiscally responsible manner. Te Board of Education continues to focus on ensuring that students and

staff members are provided a safe environment in which they can achieve high levels of learning. Te amazing District 115 employees serve as role models, influencers, and advocates to support the pursuit of students’ dreams and aspirations. Parents, business owners, and community members work to strengthen the schools through their support and partnerships. No matter our connection to the public schools, in Yorkville CUSD 115, we all come together to enhance the positive impact and influence we can have on the youth of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
