YORKVILLE CHRISTIAN HIGH SCHOOL On Sept. 3, 2018,

Yorkville Christian High School opened its doors at its new facility at 2001 Whitekirk Lane, Yorkville. “We’ve been

working for the last five years on this and we are seeing it come to fruition,” says Aaron Sovern, administrator and athletic director. “It’s a God-sized vision. I think it’s a testament to faithfully following your calling.” Founded five years ago by John and Michelle Stewart, the high school began at a south Bridge Street location that

has since been outgrown. Sovern said that the school currently has 65 students from 16 different high school districts, and is projecting to have

100 students next year. Te teacher to student ratio is 1 to 10, allowing teachers to better meet the needs of all learners. “It’s a safe place for kids to come and discover what God has intended for them, to use their talents for Him and to thrive,” Sovern said. “We get them excited. We want to educate them by getting them engaged in activities. Tere is a lot of hands-on learning, as opposed to students just sitting at desks.” For more information on the school, call 630-708-7927
