DEALS, MERGERS AND PARTNERSHIPS

IN BRIEF

Derbyshire CCC renews marketing deal

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has renewed its marketing partnership with Purpose Media for another two years. The full-service marketing

agency was first appointed in 2015 to provide a range of marketing services. Over the past two years this

has proved successful in helping increase venue bookings, engagement with sponsors and members of the 1870 Business Club and improve communication with cricket supporters. Enquiries for corporate events have increased 172% and for the past two years Christmas party nights have sold out. A website visitor now spends longer browsing the website, with traffic rising overall by 49% and organic traffic rising by 128%. The venue, The Pattonair

County Ground, has developed into a 365-day-a-year venue, hosting major events such as annual fireworks and concerts

featuring artists such as Elton John, Little Mix and Boyzone. By extending the partnership,

Derbyshire plans to further improve the effectiveness of its marketing. This will include further enhancing the website to offer fans a 24/7 matchday experience integrated with social platforms and live video streaming, positioning Derbyshire at the forefront of digital evolution in cricket. Matt Wheatcroft, Managing

Director of Purpose Media, said: “We have built a very successful track record of helping businesses and sports clubs such as Derby County FC, Rotherham United FC, Middlesex County Cricket Club and local grassroots clubs to develop their branding and online marketing strategy.”

interiors and industrial sectors. Alan Spalding, Managing

Director of Approach Personnel, said: “I have known John Hyde (founder of Elizabeth Michael Associates) for many years and the acquisition of such a fantastic business was an opportunity that myself and my business partner Adam Charlesworth were both delighted to complete. “Approach has become a multi- million-pound turnover business, now working out of a 4,300sq ft building that we purchased in 2016 to facilitate our ambitious growth plans. We felt the time was right to add further to our portfolio and jumped at the chance to purchase such a great business and brand.”

John added: “I would like to

thank the professional team which acted for me on the sale. Led by Tom Gray and Hannah Raven at Fraser Brown Solicitors and Neil South at Clayton and Brewill accountants, the support and advice during the process has been tremendous. The sale process can be difficult and fraught at times, but both Fraser Brown and Clayton & Brewill have provided keen, timely and commercial advice throughout, and crucially share the same values in business dealings which is very important to me.” Fraser Brown corporate lawyer

Tom Gray and Assistant Solicitor Hannah Raven advised John Hyde on the transaction.
