Innovation in the spotlight at Chamber’s Annual Dinner


Arriving centre stage spectacularly on a hoverboard, TV’s Gadget Show host and futurologist Jason Bradbury enthralled guests at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner recently with his take on what’s happening in the world of technology. With unbridled enthusiasm, he


took his audience on a whirlwind tour of the history of technology, how we got to where we are today and how the pace of change continues to increase. He explored themes such as how


computers will be so integral to the world around us that they will cease to be seen as objects in themselves and said that even “cars and phones would need to be reinvented” to keep pace. In addition to his TV work, Jason


is a lecturer on the University of Lincoln’s Product Design courses. And as well as being a student of


‘all things tech’, he likes to build things, from hoverboards through robots to mind-reading devices, and frequently illustrates his presentations with them. The other guest speaker at the


black-tie dinner, the pinnacle of the award-winning Chamber’s annual events calendar, was Sir John Peace, Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire and Chair of the Midlands Engine for Growth. Sir John commended the efforts of businesses across the region and
