Partnership more than a matter of Trust

This year marks ten years since city-based biotechnology company and Chamber member Albumedix joined Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust as a business supporter, working together to protect wildlife for the future. The journey together for both

Novozymes Biopharma, as Albumedix was previously branded, with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust started with the Mini Meadows campaign – encouraging the support of the people of Nottinghamshire to create thousands of ‘mini meadows’ across the county. Fifteen thousand free seed packs were given away, urging people to grow the wild flowers in their gardens or even in a pot or hanging basket as over the past 50 years the UK has lost up to 98% of its wildflower meadows. The mutual relationship has included attending and networking at the Trusts’ business gala awards and its inspiring breakfast

presentations held in the Albumedix city office, as well as holding fundraising events and getting involved in practical conservation volunteering sessions. Kate Denton, Regulatory Affairs Manager at Albumedix, said: “We have always enjoyed getting involved with Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, and it’s not just a financial donation. It’s a practical relationship too. “The staff benefit so much from

the annual conservation volunteering out on a nature reserve. It is a positive team building experience out of the office environment and we learn a lot about conservation techniques as well as the wildlife. You just can’t beat the health and wellbeing benefits for our employees. The business really gains from it.”

Sandra Horner, Fundraiser at

Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, said: “It was great to hear the stories from the past ten years including Albumedix’ support of our Mini Meadow campaign, plus the annual wildflower meadow hay rake. “Last year they visited Skylarks

Nature Reserve for their first time assisting with some practical activities to help manage the site for wildlife and meeting the livestock conservation grazing team. The relationship certainly deserves recognition for this special anniversary and we hope to celebrate together at one of our reserves later this summer.”
