GFS: HOME & AWAY
From Geography field studies at Juniper Hall and Walton on the Naze, to trips to Paris...
OUT & ABOUT... PARISI
n February 2019, 36 students from Year 9, 10 and 11, along with Mr Finneran, Mr Guildford and Ms Simms spent three days in Paris.
The trip allowed students to practice their French, visit some famous French landmarks and experience French culture first hand. Some of the students had not been abroad before so this was an excellent opportunity to expand our students’ horizons.
On the first day after a very early start we climbed the Eiffel Tower and most students even went right to the top! They then went on a boat trip along the Seine River, taking in Paris’s most famous sites. They then ate at the famous Hard Rock Café in Paris.
On the second day was a visit to Disneyland Paris, which everyone loved and some students even went on their first roller coaster ride!
On the final day was a visit to the Sacre Coeur, where students bought some souvenirs and had a panoramic view across the whole city.
Last stop was to see the Mona Lisa inside the Louvre before our journey back home.
All the students had a great time in Paris and are keen to visit again in the future. The students were excellent ambassadors of the school and we hope they will explore more of France in the future.
