City must strengthen links with China

Sheffield already has a successful relationship with China, whether that be through investment and trade or the students at its universities, but Sheffield needs to grow that relationship significantly – and fast. New Era Development, Sheffield Hallam

University, The University of Sheffield, Sheffield City Council and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce have come together in a revolutionary partnership to deliver the unique China-UK Business Incubator (CUBI). CUBI is a not-for-profit social enterprise,

which aims to assist local businesses to trade with China, Chinese investors and Chinese students in the UK to set up businesses in Sheffield City Region plus incubation space to help businesses grow. Located in the New Era Development in Sheffield, CUBI will offer a one stop shop for all things China. China has shown great faith in Sheffield by building the £70m mixed-use development, New Era Square, which includes the 21 storey Jade Tower, student accommodation, offices, retail and catering units,
