What is AEO and its new importance in international trade?

Healthy outlook for local services as 68 apprentices graduate
The first higher apprentices to complete a new pilot training programme have graduated in a regional first for South Yorkshire healthcare employers. Sixty-eight graduates from eight healthcare providers have completed the Trainee Assistant Practitioners programme run in partnership with The Sheffield College. They have achieved the Healthcare Assistant Practitioner Diploma at Level 5. The 18-month qualification helps employers to develop a skilled workforce to support healthcare professionals that better meets the changing health needs of patients. It has enabled the graduates to progress with

The world of international trade is changing, and not just because of Brexit. Not many people have heard of the safe framework of standards for global trade. It is based on a global Trusted Trader
Standard of which the term Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) will become the norm. Currently it is a voluntary standard which companies are encouraged to attain by application to HMRC, however we are now seeing a lot of evidence that it is becoming a commercially driven necessity. Exporting and importing companies are contacting us to ask what AEO is because potential customers or partners who are registered want to do business with companies who have the standard. I believe it will become an essential
attribute in time, and those involved in any form of international trade must understand what it is and how it will affect their business. We are already working with a number of significant companies to achieve compliancy with HMRC and WCO to achieve the AEO standard. Our programme will include Approved Exporter Status (AES) which may become essential in our changing relationship with Europe. The SYITC programme to achieve AEO and AES, will bring companies to the level required to apply for ISO 28001, the security management systems for global supply chains.
