ever Castle Triathlon celebrated 10 years with thousands of competitors, celebrities, a parachute jump and its fi rst-ever Night Swim. The weekend


team landing with a special anniversary fl ag, majestic Night Swim accompanied by jazz musicians and a speaker tent fi lled with celebrities giving inspirational talks. BBC presenter and GB triathlete, Louise Minchin, took to the stage and also dived into the Night Swim and 10k run, enjoying the stunning Castle and event offering. Saturday night saw the inaugural Night Swim spectacularly light up the Italian loggia and pontoon as competitors entered the iconic lake wearing glo sticks, with 120 swimmers completing one of three distances – 400m, 750m or 1,500m with a course


that wound around beautifully lit buoys. Junior triathletes ‘tri’ed hard in the


world’s largest junior event of its kind as 1,500 children aged eight-15 years old took part in various distances. The 11-15 year olds took part in an adapted event as it became a duathlon, run, bike, run, as recommended by the BTF. • 2019’s Hever Castle Triathlon takes place on 28th & 29th September.
