SPOTLIGHT ON CROWBOROUGH 047

Crowborough: at the heart of the community

From the annual fi reworks to the traditional Christmas lights switch-on, the charming Sussex town of Crowborough has its community at its heart

S

urrounded by beautiful countryside, the quaint Sussex town of Crowborough, which lies a few miles south of

Tunbridge Wells just over the Kent/Sussex border, has plenty to offer locals and visitors alike, from shopping and dining out to historical links and family fun. And let’s not forget too, that at this time of year the town is set to light up the skies with the annual – and ever popular – fi reworks display. This year’s Grand

Fireworks Display takes place at Goldsmiths Recreation Ground

on the Eridge Road on Monday 5th November. With free admission, the fun kicks off at 7.15pm with the lighting of the beacon followed by fi reworks at 7.30pm. And as in previous years, Crowborough Lions and Crowborough Bonfi re & Carnival Society will be collecting donations for

the Mayor’s charities, which this year are Crowborough Acorns for Cancer Research UK and Clued-Up Info.

A SHORT DRIVE

OUT TO THE VILLAGE OF HARTFIELD WILL TAKE YOU TO ‘POOH COUNTRY’

Meanwhile, the countdown to Christmas gets underway in Crowborough on Friday 23rd November, with the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights, live music, sleigh rides and entertainment – and INDEX has heard that Father Christmas could be stopping off to say hello en route to Lapland!
