Stronger presence for VETUS in S. America and Caribbean


L


eading marine systems manufacturer VETUS Maxwell has appointed E & P Marine, Inc as its representative in


South America and the Caribbean. The Miami-based leisure equipment supplier will represent the VETUS and Maxwell product lines in the region from Mexico through to Brazil and across the Caribbean islands. The new appointment further


expands the company’s network of representatives, increasing its international presence as it grows sales for its engines, generators, bow thrusters, control panels and other equipment for recreational craft and small commercial vessels.


Founded in 1980, E & P Marine has


expanded from its original territories of Latin America and the Caribbean to worldwide representation for a growing number of major brands. With a range of customers including OEMs, dealers and wholesalers, E & P offers a variety of products, as well as providing expert technical support. Miguel A. High profile resort Hamilton Island Marina has been awarded Five Gold Anchor accreditation under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme. Located within Queensland’s Whitsunday Islands, the marina is a popular destination for boating enthusiasts with Hamilton Island Race Week now established as an iconic yachting event. The award was presented at Hamilton Island Marina by Colin Bransgrove, Executive Officer of the Marina Industries Association, to David Boyd, Hamilton Island General Manager Retail, Activities and Marina, and to Scott Hornstra, the Marina Manager. Robin Walters – gentleman of the sea


It is with very deep regret that we report the death of Robin Gamble Walters, BSc, MICE, FIHE, the founder and Chairman of Walcon Marine Ltd and a leading figure in the marina industry. Robin was recognised as one of


the fathers of today’s modern yacht harbours. He worked in the industry for over 50 years, pioneering the use of concrete floats for pontoons,

extensively with The Yacht Harbour Association. Away from business, Robin was


a keen and extremely competitive sailor, owning a series of racing yachts and picking up trophies in some of the toughest of races. His involvement with the Folkboat Associational stretched back over many years. He leaves a much-loved family of
