Mike Glanville has been appointed as Managing Director of Marina Developments Ltd (MDL Marinas).
New MD for MDL
Mike has nearly 20 years of experience in the marina industry and was MDL’s Operations Director prior to his new appointment.
He will continue to focus on high quality customer experience, while developing the company’s products and services for the longer term. MDL operates marinas in the UK and Europe and are now using some sites to offer new services, such as the award-winning new lodge park at Woolverstone Marina.
Edward Iliffe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, says: “Mike has an in- depth knowledge of our business and the opportunities we have. I know that Mike is excited about leading this new challenge and he will be working closely with his executive team to ensure the business’s future success.”

Grenada Sailing Festival Showcasing the Caribbean’s great sailing traditions, based on local designs of fishing boats, the Grenada Sailing Festival from 2-3 February, 2019, is focused on a traditional Work Boat Regatta where brightly-painted wooden boats with traditional bamboo rigging race off the island’s famous Grand Anse Beach. Over the years, the Grenada Sailing Festival has become well-known for its unique combination of charm, excellent sailing conditions, well run yet laid back racing and the extra bonus of experiencing traditional local races set against the background of a major beach party.
Sanctuary Cove has new manager
Following 12 years as General Manager of Corporate Services at Gold City Marina in Australia, Steve Sammes, CMM, has been appointed General Manager of Sanctuary Cove Marina in Queensland. Only the third person to become a Certified Marina Manager in Australia, he was one of the founders of the Global Marina Institute and was previously a board director of the Marina Industries Association.
Clive Kemp retires After 42 years with Walcon Marine Ltd, Clive Kemp has finally retired as Commercial Director to spend more time with his wife, Bernice, his beloved classic sport car, an MG A, and enjoy golfing.
