Christmas At Chestnut Advice for gardeners from Chestnut Nursery
As we come to Christmas, our shop in Kingland
Crescent is decorated with lights
and fi lled with houseplants and gifts for all.
We have designed and planted up festively themed pots – the perfect ‘ready made’ gift, but if you would prefer to design your own planters and pots then pop in and see our range of lovely houseplants, pots in different shapes, sizes and textures and our range of beautiful gift items. Holly wreaths will also be available from early December – the fi nishing touch for all your festive decorating.
We are well stocked with delicious chutneys, crackers and preserves, all festively presented and locally sourced from The Cherry Tree in Bridport. They taste as good as they look!
The build at our main nursery site is progressing well, foundations have been dug and fl oors have been laid. We can now see the outline of the new shop and retail area and are looking forward to seeing our new Nursery grow before our eyes!
The volunteers have been busy potting-up our usual great range and selection of roses ready for the re- opening of the main site next year. They have been working in the greenhouse that was our old shop as we had to demolish the old potting shed, which was condemned, as part of the build.
We urgently need to replace the potting shed before the season begins. It is the heart of the nursery – where the volunteers do most of their work; where friendships begin; a support network is always to hand and a sense of belonging is created. Any donations would be welcome!
