Lockyer's Middle School
It has been another very busy month at Lockyer’s Middle School.
We have been proud to welcome Year 4 pupils from our local fi rst schools to experience life at Lockyer’s and to take part in ‘taster’ workshops. The children were wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed making pizza and undertaking exciting science experiments.
Year 8 pupils have been learning about the effects of climate change on our planet as part of their geography work on glaciation. The children all wrote a Tweet to call people in our local community to make a change. Three winners were chosen and were proud to Tweet on the school’s Twitter feed.
On 9th November we were delighted to welcome Des Curtis, decorated member of the Royal Airforce during World War 2, to present an assembly to our Year 8 pupils about the importance of remembrance. As one Year 8 pupil stated, “I found his presentation to be really emotional.”
