Welcome to the December issue


December is here and this issue is full of Christmas offers and events.


There is a variety of lovely festive local events on this month – see pages 6, 58-59, & 61. If you are looking for gifts, Poole Lighting has its ‘biggest sale of the year’ (pg17), Sturtons & Tappers has a host of festive treats (pg25), and The Junction Leisure Centre is offering membership packages (pg40).


Christmas is also a time for giving, so congratulations to Forum Jewellers for their great fundraising efforts at their ‘Dine with Diamonds’ charity event (pg18). Why not buy your charity Christmas cards in Broadstone Library (pg14); or contribute to Margaret Green Animal Rescue’s Santa Paws Appeal (pg46), or to Chestnut Nursery by shopping in their Poole pop-up shop (pg48).


At a time when we produce a lot more waste, Dorset Waste Partnership is keen to get us recyling appropriately and using our food caddies (pg8-9).


Getting ready for colder weather, Star Tech MD, Matt Peacock shares his knowledge of winter tyres (pg5), and Supreme Heating is offering a boiler service (pg64). Chris at Hillside Vets suggests ways to avoid common Christmas calamities for your pets (pg21) and Denise from Broadstone in Bloom takes us through winter jobs in our gardens (pg52).
