An honour to lead during record year
President of the Future Faces Chamber of Commerce, Sian Averill, is about to handover the baton to a new president of the young professionals Chamber. In her last message as president, she reflects on her tenure over the past year, during which Future Faces membership has grown by more than 100 per cent. Sian’s successor will be announced at the Future Faces annual general meeting at the end of November.
I
feel incredibly lucky to have been president of Future Faces, during what I believe has been the most exciting 12 months that the organisation has experienced so far. My year as president has passed in the blink of an
eye, but I am extremely proud of everything the organisation and its members have achieved during that year. Future Faces has strived for years to become the
‘go to’ organisation for young professionals in the region and thanks to the tremendous work of Anna Assinder, Future Faces manager, the Chamber team and the executive committee, I truly believe we have achieved that goal. Future Faces was set up to develop and recognise young professionals from across Birmingham in all different sectors and as a team, we are always looking at ways we can strengthen our offering to our members. A highlight for me this year has to be Gymshark joining as
Future Faces patrons and the professional development event held at their headquarters in Solihull. The talk was exciting, motivating, and most of all honest, which I believe will have inspired many of our entrepreneurial members. Another highlight, of course, was the sell-out dinner
and awards that gave us the opportunity to recognise the incredible talent we have in our region. My thanks has to go to the executive committee
which is made up of some of the most committed and hard working people I have had the pleasure of working with. As well as the committee, I have to acknowledge the remarkable work that Anna Assinder has done with the organisation, not only growing the membership by over 100 per cent but also consistently working with our patrons and other organisations to ensure all of our events are beneficial and relevant to our members. All that’s left for me to do is wish the incoming
president the best of luck in their term. I look forward to seeing the new heights that Future Faces reaches during the next 12 months.
