Expand your reach with advertising opportunities

Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce (GBCC) is the ‘go-to’ place for digital advertising and sponsorship opportunities – as the organisation’s reach continues to widen. The Chamber has helped a number of businesses

boost their presence in the Greater Birmingham region through digital campaigns and sponsorship packages, on both a long-term and ad-hoc basis.

‘Our divisional newsletters have 33,500 subscribers, while our website attracts 700,000 page views annually’

Among the most popular advertising

platforms is the ‘ChamberlinkDaily’ news bulletin which goes out to around 14,000 businesses and individuals every morning with stories and pictures relevant to the business community. Our divisional newsletters, which

embrace all of the GBCC’s geographical and specialist sections, have 33,500 subscribers, while our website attracts 700,000 page views annually. Another hugely popular asset is the Chamber events calendar – a

comprehensive guide to our 200-plus events – in both online and physical formats. Sponsorship manager Russell Ashman (pictured)

has been leading the drive to help businesses raise their profile through a broad range of short-term and 12-month initiatives. Russell said: “As the Chamber’s membership base

continues to grow, so does our reach and, in turn, our range of advertising and sponsorship opportunities. We can help businesses of all sizes boost their presence – whether they are based within our six geographical locations or elsewhere in the UK. With many businesses in the midst of putting in place their marketing and promotional strategies for 2019, I would encourage them to contact the Chamber and find out more about our vast offering. “There is also a great deal of

flexibility to our offering. For example, businesses who are running seasonal or one-off events and promotions can advertise with us for a single month.”

Top firms team up for rapid growth

Europe’s fasting growing companies are turning to alliances, joint ventures and minority stakes to deliver rapid growth, according to new research from law firm Pinsent Masons, which has an office in Birmingham. The report – ‘Pacesetters: How

Europe’s fastest-growing companies stay ahead of the pack’ – revealed that an average of 62 per cent of revenue growth in Europe's fastest growing companies during the last three years resulted from organic growth and non-mergers and acquisitions (M&As), compared to just 38 per cent from M&A activity. Alliances and joint ventures were

the most cited factor among the 400 companies surveyed, with 40 per cent listing them in their top three most important drivers of growth over the last three years. Edward Stead, who leads Pinsent

Masons’ private equity team, said: “These are partnership capital deals conducted on a grown-up basis where both sides are looking to work together, rather than the acquirer taking control. The varied deal structures being adopted reflect the need to move quickly to gain market advantage while taking a commercial approach to risk.”
