“Henry IV, Part 1” by William Shakespeare

The audience wants something that entertains them, and whether that entertainment is in the form of a physical match or in the form of a skit or video or promo, it’s our job to deliver it to them, to the point where the audience be- comes the biggest champion of our brand. And if we can’t

MILL VALLEY, CA. ~ The Curtain Theatre celebrates its 19th summer amid the red- woods of Old Mill Park with one of Shakespeare’s most enduringly popular plays, “Henry IV, Part 1.” Full of comedy, action and wonder- ful characters, the play fo- cuses on the transformation of Prince Hal--son of King Henry and future heir to Eng- land’s crown--from a wastrel who consorts in taverns with the roguish John Falstaff to a politically astute warrior who must confront an insurrection. Directed by Steve Beecroft, with a strong group of actors, beautiful costumes and sets and, as always, original music and choreography, “Henry IV, Part 1” is destined to become a Curtain Theatre classic. Performances are free and run during the last two week-

ends in August and first two weekends in Sept, including Labor Day Monday. Bring the family, bring a picnic and pre- pare to be entertained! This year’s set is once again

the work of Steve Coleman, a Curtain mainstay who excels at exploiting its redwood am- phitheater. Don Clark, anoth- er founding Curtain member, leads a four-piece

acoustic

band playing original and tra- ditional tunes. Steve Beecroft, in addition to directing, serves as choreographer.

Adriana Gutierrez is return- ing to design costumes. Cast: Paul

Abbott, Steve Beec-

roft, Nelson Brown, Heather Cherry, James Gregory, Isa- belle Grimm, Lljesh Krish- nan, James Montellato, Nick Moore, Annette Oliveira, Tom Reilly, Victoria

dedicated to putting on the world’s best plays in one of the Bay Area’s most beauti- ful settings. Its outdoor pro- ductions in Old Mill Park, including Shakespeare’s best- loved comedies, are designed for first-time viewers as well as long-time theatre Curtain
