Crowdfunding Supporting Sport Locally Involved in Sport ? Need Funds ? we can help ....
In association with Podium Partners, WASP want to help local people to develop their potential and to be able to support individuals and organisations involved in sport and physical activity.
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) offer the opportunity for the local community sports organisations and athletes of all ages to promote their campaign on their crowdfunding website, enabling them to raise funds by bringing their project to the attention of the wider public and businesses.
We can now accept applications from any person or organisation where the purpose of the campaign is to “educate, develop and improve” through sport (where sport is defined as all types of physical activity that people do to keep healthy or for enjoyment).
The possibilities for campaigns are endless from equipment purchase and facility hire to travel costs for competitions, through to coaching and training and physio costs for example. Take a look at our web- site below for examples of successful and current campaigns!
Working with a charity partner allows donations to be eligible for Gift Aid which increases the value of each donation by reclaiming the basic rate of tax on the donation at no extra cost. This could convert every £10 donated to as much as £12.50*

Applications accepted an time throughout the year! Salisbury and District Table Tennis Satellite Club is a big hit!
overcome this barrier.WASP found eight volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds interested in being part of a new club. Not all were players but they attended the UKCC Level 1 Course in Coaching Table Tennis and took part in Emergency First Aid and Safeguarding and Protecting Children Courses that WASP provide.
Historically Table Tennis has been successful in Salisbury producing a number of county and national level players, but often there is a huge gap in standard between those playing in competitive leagues and those playing socially. Reasons identified were the lack of opportunities for players both young and old to learn to play and improve. The high standard in some clubs also made it more intimidating for new players to get involved in playing.
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) saw an opportunity to help
The Salisbury and District Table Tennis Club was launched in November 2015. Through the Sport England Satellite Club programme coordinated by WASP the club were able to purchase new tables to add to the school ones (12 in total) and equipment for use at the school by the club and its students. The initial 6 week period was free of charge and attracted 150 people of all ages. Even the worry about numbers reducing once they started charging for he sessions were unfounded, instead they have increased. Emma Sheppard (Coach) said “It’s amazing what’s been achieved in such a short space of time.
Table Tennis England says it’s already one of, if not the largest clubs in the county. The invaluable advice and support given by WASP has meant we are in a position where the club can cover costs and reinvest in the club in the future.”
Luke Woodward (14yrs) said “It’s really fun and relaxed. It’s great that we have the opportunity to have coaching and play against players stronger than us.
But if we don’t want to be coached one night we can just play games.”
