Powderham Food Festival has revealed the line-up of high-profi le chefs who will be featuring at this year’s Festival taking place on 6 and 7 October 2018. Star of T e Hungry Sailors,
James Strawbridge will be making his debut appearance at the exciting autumnal foodie event alongside broadcaster Judi Spiers, who will be hosting the chefs’ theatre across the weekend. Set against the backdrop of

Get your taste buds at the ready: the free, family-friendly Wells Food Festival is returning on Sunday 14 October. Now in its sixth year, Wells Food
Festival is a celebration of Somerset’s rich farming and culinary heritage. Over 15,000 visitors are expected to come and enjoy a foodie day out in the medieval heart of England’s smallest city. Set in the surroundings of the iconic Wells Cathedral, food stalls will stretch from the Marketplace and the Town Hall, into the grounds of T e Bishop’s Palace, along the Moat, into the Recreation Ground and the Bishop’s Barn. T is year will see over 150 producers
and street food sellers in the Artisan Market, showcasing the extensive range of fi ne food and produce that comes from the region. Visitors can expect to taste their way around the world with everything from chai to mead, Moroccan nut butter to traditional Somerset Cheddar. In the Town Hall, a high-profi le
debate will address the topic: “It’s Time We Talked About Local Food”. An informed panel of key stakeholders, farmers, producers and conservationists will discuss the importance of locally produced food to the cultural identity of Somerset and how it can be promoted to the outside world. Charlie Bigham’s Discovery Zone
returns and this year includes the 15th century Bishop’s Barn. A key focus this year is examining how to ensure a thriving countryside while safeguarding the supply of quality, healthy foods. An opportunity for all the family to roll up their sleeves and get involved, there will be three interactive areas to explore: Field to Fork, Waste Not, Want Not, and Food for the Future.
