HOROSCOPES S

o, here we are in the height of beautiful summer. Hav- ing just strolled into the House of the Sun, house

of the father, fun, children and cre- ativity. Leo the lion, you glow in the radiance of center stage. Your light is Source(ry). Like all signs, you carry the movement of trans- formation. Leo’s signature makes this visible, public and fascinating; the cat- erpillar to butterfly from all angles, with all of it’s color and emotion. Maybe this is a part of why we find you so fascinat-

ing. Because of your inherent gener- osity you offer a sneak-peak inside the chrysalis that each and everyone of us goes through. But rarely have a chance to see. Time for a trip to one the neighbor- ing county fairs. while you are there stop into the fun house of mirrors to look at the many facets of yourself. Like

all great thespians you need proper lighting so bring your ah-ha flashlight. Now, we are going to put out a zinger-concept here. Because, in the

When faced with stressful situations, positive thinkers cope more effectively than pessimists.

The Mayo Clinic reports a number of health benefits associated with optimism, including a reduced risk of death from cardiovascular problems, less depression, and an increased lifespan.

third week of August, we enter into Virgo- Pur Eternus- the archetype of the Eternal Child. This is not in the way of the lost Boys of peter pan . But that which holds the eternal purity of our child nature. This is a little bit of a different take on Vir- go the virgin. Now

I my-

self am a Virgo, rounding out 56 years as a professional art- ist, sculptor , author astrologer. This has been a very good turn- around-year for me in all of these places. In

addition to getting to regularly spend this time with you all in this month- ly article, so generously offered by founder Paul. As an artist I have completed almost 30 new paintings. And I really like them a lot. Virgo is also the sign of the healer , ruling the sixth house of daily work and health. These paintings are small meditative icons of personal imagery distilled into abstraction in the way of the Pur Eternus. We Virgos are known as a fussy, picky bunch. And so forgo the urge, when dining out,

to beat a track back to the kitchen at the restaurant. Maybe save this mi- croscoping for your own kitchen. It’s just that we are ruled by mercury and happy with dense par- ticulate mat- ter because for us these bits are but helpful breadcrumbs on the path

through en route to the long game. Unfortunately we can get stuck in the middle of the river so to speak, nose deep in detail. So for me the progres- sive simplification of these paintings is very helpful. And I might pass this onto all of you with sun in Virgo and to all of us as we enter this highly complex and exhilarating sign. For fun, if you would like to see a few of these pieces, head out to the Bodega Landmark gallery on your way out to the beach, mention this article to proprietor Lorenzo and he will give you a little surprise treat. Get along you little doggies, frisk, frolic and enjoy melting Almond Joy bar!
