the band so it's double awesome. I told Paul and Brandon that their music was getting him through a divorce and they couldn't have been more welcoming and nice. He was so star struck that Charlie commented on his python boots that all he could get out was a small thanks, (Even though he had a whole line of how he wrestled that snake down himself lol). It was funny because Scott is 6'4. At one show Paul and Richard were in the au- dience jamming to Mule with us and were very humble to take pics with their fans. They inspire people going through hard times to keep on keeping on. The pic attached is of the meet and greet I was telling you about. Biggest smile he had in months! You can guess witch one he is lol. And that's why any chance we get we spread the smoke. “ -Ryan Wheeler

My son and I went to see them on the

“Sanctified “tour in November. They were the only reason we went. Aaron Lewis is ok, but his concert and performance came off like Ron White with a guitar. One or two songs with energy, then pfft. BBS seem approach- able and are in top rotation in the Maxwell House My son has autism and is high func- tion, and we dance to BBS music. I used to own Silver Eagle Events in Mt Vernon KY and I used their music between band breaks.(yeah we pay the ASCAP SESAC BMI......) but peo- ple would come to me and ask, Who is that? So I think I helped with finding other follow- ers, at least in KY. The Live show is great..... -Greg Maxwell

Brit Turner with Karen Blackmon Caldwell. Karen was lead singer of the Artimus Pyle Band on their MCA album Night Caller, and a solo artist.

“BBS is the Modern version of Lynyrd

Skynyrd - unapologetic for their choice of words on whatever the subject matter may be. (i. e. “ Sleeping Dogs.”) I discovered the sec- ond album first. Each time they play it is soothing. They are a tight group! Yeah, tighter than this .....

‘Turn me on to the Smoke! A friend was working for Trace Atkins and I hadn’t seen him in a while, so we decided to hit a short road trip up to Missouri to an old venue that was trying to re-open and catch up with him. Aaron Lewis was one of the openers, I knew him from his days with Staind, the other listed opener I had not heard of at all. Day or two before the show I poked around you tube to get an idea of this Blackberry Smoke band and learned this was their first big tour. I landed on a song called “Ain’t Much Left of Me” and was hooked by the end of the song. So ,ripping off of youtube I put together a playlist of 6-7 songs from Whippoorwill and Little Piece of Dixie. Driving up we played those several times thru and getting to the show we got to catch their set, I’ve seen hun- dreds of live bands and these guys just had that “Thing” live on stage! Got to chat a mo- ment with Charlie and Richard during Lewis’s set and found real, down to earth guys with absolutely no egos and loving what they do. Seen them 6-7 times over the last 10 years and they just owned the stage every time. Had to buy all the music and have been a fan since that night! - Dick Lester
