area but if Blackberry Smoke ever came back here, I would immediately get tickets. They are a wonderfully talented band and I need to work on getting more of their music.”

- Bob Nosbisch, Las Cruces, New Mexico

“My name is Bob and I live on Long Island. Back in early 2017, I was cruising in my car when I heard a new song on the radio. It was a great tune called “Let It Burn” by Black- berry Smoke. I had never heard of them be- fore.

When I got home, I looked up the song

on YouTube and played it again. Then I played it for my wife and she loved it too. I wanted to know more about the band. So I looked up the song and found that it was on an album called Like An Arrow. I found a few snippets of the songs and was impressed, so I bought the album. That night I listen to the entire album and it was excellent. This was some kick ass southern rock. Blackberry Smoke has a slogan that

says that they’re “Too Rock for Country, Too Country for Rock .” Unfortunately most rock radio stations in NYC area basically play the same music over and over again and bands like Blackberry Smoke aren’t getting any air play here. The following day I did quite a bit more

of research on the band and bought another album called The Whippoorwill. I listened to that entire album and once again, I was blown away. Within 48 hours of hearing Blackberry Smoke for the first time, I had purchased and listened and fell in love with every one of their albums. But I knew this was a band I had to see

live. Unfortunately, I would have to wait months to see them to roll back into the New York area. When they finally did come back, they played a show at Terminal 5 in NYC and I was right up front. As I expected, the band was excellent in concert.

Charlie Starr. (Bob Johnson Photo) Charlie Starr is an incredible frontman.

His vocals and guitar playing are fantastic. But I constantly found my eyes wandering from musician to musician. Paul Jackson is also a great guitar player and his vocal har- monies mesh perfectly with Starr. I have al- ways been a huge fan of the piano and organ and Brandon Still delivered it all night long. The Turner brothers make up a thunderous rhythm section with Richard on the bass and his brother Brit on the drums. You know a band was fantastic in con-

cert when you walk out of the show and all you can think about is getting tickets to see them again. Fortunately, a few months later, they played on Long Island and I was able to take my wife to see them for the first time. As soon as the show ended, she turned to me and said, “We need to see them again!” And my 11 year old son has become a

huge fan too. He loves listening to them and even asked me to get him a Blackberry Smoke
