Oban – Oban

U KERRERA Footloose to the Emerald Isle

Tuesday 1st to Tuesday 8th October 2019 7 nights including 2 Gala Dinners

Embrace the Celtic spirit on this tantalising Footloose cruise through scenery steeped in myth and mystery. From mainland Scotland to the legendary beauty of the Antrim coast, by way of some of the Inner Isles’ most awesome landscapes, Hebridean Princess takes a magical and memorable journey.

From Oban, Kilmartin Glen beckons. Here we discover some of the 800 ancient monuments, and reveal the area’s rich archaeological legacy, or strike out in the company of our knowledgeable walking guides. After exploring the scenic village of Tayvallich, we plot a southerly course through the Sound of Jura.

A full day on Islay offers the opportunity for wonderful walks or visits to Finlaggan, the centre of the Lordship of the Isles, and a tour of Kilchoman Distillery.

A cruise of the North Channel brings us to Ballycastle, where our walkers head out on foot over lush, rolling hills and the steep cliffs of the Antrim Coast, or marvel at the 300-year old Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, first erected by salmon fishermen, and the awe- inspiring Giant’s Causeway.

Before returning across the North Channel, we land on the tiny bird-watcher’s haven of Rathlin Island for a gentle stroll to the RSPB reserve and lighthouse ahead of the fertile island of Gigha for walks or a visit to Achamore Gardens.

Onwards to Jura and the island’s only settlement of Craighouse. Our final day includes a gentle amble or cycle along the towpath of the Crinan Canal and an exploration of the walker’s paradise, Kerrera, which offers stunning views of the surrounding coast.
