Oban – Oban & Gastronomic Scotland

Tuesday 2nd to Tuesday 9th April 2019 7 nights including 2 Gala Dinners This cruise also departs on 24th September 2019

From superb seafood and famous beef, to seasonal fresh game, artisan cheeses and fine malt whiskies - Scotland boasts some of the world’s finest produce imaginable. Join Hebridean Princess on this gastronomic voyage as we explore the wonderful culinary offerings of the Highlands and Islands.

Islay is famed for big peaty whiskies and we sample the rich malt which has been produced at Laphroaig Distillery since 1815, whilst on Colonsay we meet the man who supplies Hebridean Princess with oysters and learn about his other passion - native Black Bees and the honey they produce.

A cruise of the Small Isles highlights their diversity and on the wildlife haven of Rum, the red sandstone folly of Kinloch Castle awaits. Steaming into Loch Dunvegan, we visit the oldest continually inhabited castle in Scotland, Dunvegan Castle, and savour lunch at the world renowned Three Chimneys Restaurant.

After sampling the cuisine at Kinloch Lodge on Skye, we partake in refreshments at the most remote pub on mainland Britain, The Old Forge, ahead of landing on the second of the Small Isles, Eigg.

Sailing south we discover the traditional artisan methods used to create Isle of Mull Cheese from the colourful island capital of Tobermory.

A cruise of the Sound of Mull takes us to the Isle of Eriska Hotel and here we enjoy lunch in the award winning restaurant. Our culinary adventure concludes with a champagne reception at Duart Castle, hosted by Sir Lachlan Maclean, Chieftain of Clan Maclean.
