Welcome to a packed April issue where we anticipate the forthcoming season with great excitement and with all fingers crossed for prolonged good weather for the warmer months ahead.
The early Easter and freezing March did not help us, as like the ice cream sellers, we need a spell of sunshine to get the customers through the shops and showrooms and signing on the dotted line of the contract.
Before the season takes off, we invite you to take time out to savour your April issue. Make a note of what other companies are doing to boost business and build those ideas into your business plan.
Following the passing of Trevor Baylis, we pay a special tribute to the man who invented the wind-up radio, and who may be less known for making a big splash in the UK pool market.
But do not forget to join us in a chorus of applause for John Asher and his Asher Swimpool team as they celebrate a remarkable 50th anniversary in the industry. Defying several medical conditions, which would have felled a lesser man, John was still busily offering assistance and support at this year’s SPATEX event.
As an individual and as a company, John, his family and staff, have consistently maintained the highest standards of not just workmanship but also integrity. A stalwart supporter of the trade associations that underpin our industry, John is a role model for not just how to run a successful business but for life itself.
