he South Jersey Choral Directors Association held their annual concerts

School, led their groups of 180 sing- ers each, and ended with a combined performance of An American Hymn along with an instrumental ensemble prepared for the concert. We would like to thank everyone who contrib- uted to the success of this year’s fes- tival, from audition day to perfor- mance day: managers, hosts, directors as well as the Board of Directors and especially our new Festival Coordina- tor, Amy Melson. Each year, SJCDA gives two scholarships to deserving senior members. Our annual Founder’s Scholarship was awarded to Ash- win Mahadevan of Cherokee High School and the Richard M. Smith Scholarship for Music Education was awarded to Michael Krasting of West Deptford. After the final perfor- mance, conductors, retirees and other honored guests gathered together for a wonderful meal and celebration at “Terra Nova” in Sewell. Directors

are reminded to at-

tend our Spring Breakfast and Gen- eral Membership Meeting, to be held again at the “Crowne Plaza,” in Cherry Hill, on April 27. Professional development will be offered, as well as an opportunity to discuss the con- tinued improvement of the organiza- tion and its events. Information will be available on our website at www. sjcda.net. Please consider attending this event as we make the push to the end of another successful school year together.
