Fair Friends,Welcome to 2018! We are off to a new year together and new beginnings.
Speaking of new beginnings, this is a great segway into this month’s Zone 2 article. Some of you may already be aware but there is big news within Zone 2. We have a new Zone 2 Director. It gives me great pleasure to introduce Florida’s own – Vicki Chouris, Vice -President and Chief Operating Officer with the South Florida Fair. Vicki will fill my unexpired term (of one year), as I was honored to be elected as your 2nd Vice Chair of the IAFE. As I officially “sign off” as your past Zone 2 Director,
please know what a pleasure it has been to serve all of you great folks. We can all take great pleasure in knowing that our Zone 2 serves our industry well. If you want to toot your own Zone 2 horn for a bit, just check out the IAFE website,
www.fairsandexpos.com and see all of the Zone 2 folks currently serving on the IAFE Board. I’m not being prideful but very thankful I am a part of Zone 2! Thank you for the opportunity to serve with and for you. I am ex- tremely excited to serve with Vicki and look very forward to another great year together.
With a thankful heart, Nancy Smith A Message from Vicki Chouris, Zone 2 Director
Hello Everyone, It is an amazing honor to step in to fill the role of
Zone 2 Director for the upcoming year. Nancy Smith has served all of us well and we are so proud that she has been selected to serve as the 2nd Vice Chair of the IAFE. It is a well-deserved honor. As is evident from Nancy’s dedication to our Zone,
I have some truly big shoes to fill, but I accept the challenge willingly and with tremendous excite- ment. The South Florida Fair, where I have worked for the past 33 years, just ended 2 days ago as I write this note so I am sure each of you will under- stand why the message will be brief. I received the news of the election as Zone 2 Director days before our Fair began and am just now able to fully grasp the responsibility that lies ahead. Be assured, work- ing to help Zone 2 prosper is on the top of the “to do” list. There are so many amazing Florida Fair friends that have been there for me in the past and I know they will be there for all of us in the future. I will be reaching out to each of you for your valued advice and expertise and hope that you share any ideas that you feel will benefit our wonderful indus- try.
As the Fair season continues in Florida for the
next 4 months, we wish each of you tremendous success for a safe and prosperous Fair. Be sure to “Save the Date” for our combined Florida Federation of Fairs and Zone 2 Convention in May.
