Florida Fair News

76th North Florida Fair is the Best

Ever The 76th North Florida Fair

was held November 2-12. It was a festive atmosphere and the fair was off to a rocking start. The weather cooperated and every day of the fair was clear and the temperatures were mild. Crowds were great every day with no slow days. When all was said and done, the North Florida Fair fell short of an attendance record for the seventh consecutive year but net income was still fantastic. More importantly, the customers were treated to a fantastic experience. The Anastasini Circus was on hand with their family style

The Clay County Agricultural Fair has some BIG things happening

this year! We are a stop for the Big Idaho Potato Truck during our opening weekend. This truck is 72ft long and hauls a giant life- sized potato on the back of it across the nation. We will also have the Cooking Channel’s “Carnival Eats” on site filming for their upcoming season! Some of our more “Outside of the Box” activities taking

place this year are our first ever Redneck Romper Fashion Show, Bubba’s Belly Contest, Bonnets & Bowties parade AND we’re bringing Goat Yoga to the fair! It’s “baaaa-ound” to be a great time! Our 2018 entertainment schedule is a hot one, with art-

ists Russell Dickerson, Chris Janson, Dailey & Vincent, Mi- cah Tyler, Jeremy Camp, High Valley, and Chase Rice perform- ing at the fair. We have many more new and

exciting things to do at the fair, just waiting for you to come discover them, March 29-April 7, 2018. We’re proud of our fair and hope to see you all there!

circus under a big top tent. As a way to announce the start of a show, a tightrope walker would walk across the span above the tent. It attracted the attention of a crowd every night. When the heads were craned skyward, people would look to see what others were looking at. It was a fantastic show. Also on hand for entertainment was the Pittman Magic Show, a fast paced show with magic, juggling, and balance acts. It was also a crowd favorite. The Tricky Dog Show, the Show-Me Safari Swine Racers, and the Show-Me Safari Petting Zoo rounded out the grounds acts for the fair. All the entertainment drew crowds at every show. Strates Shows provided the midway for the North Florida

Fair and also hosted a fundraiser for OABA. The fundraiser was costume themed and a number of fantastic costumes were on display. The fair closed around 11 pm and the fundraiser started immediately after and the party contin- ued until about 3 am. I think is was a wildly successful fundraiser for OABA. The North Florida Fair continues to entertain customers

with great entertainment, spectacular rides, delicious food, and is a fantastic value in family entertainment. We look forward to another great year in 2018. See you at the fair.

St. Lucie County Fair

St. Lucie Kickin into Gear!! The St. Lucie County Fair will present the 53rd Annual

Fair on Feb. 23rd and run through March 4, 2018. Enter- tainment will feature the Dweebs and the Judge Talford band, both have showcased at our convention within the last 2 years. Others include Lloyd Mabrey, Chris Mabrey, Rocket the Robot, Shennigun’s Wild West Show, Nick’s Kid Show, Show me Safari petting zoo and racing pigs. We are so happy to welcome back Lady Hou- dini and Kevin as they have both been through a tough year but have shown a strong recovery from the horrific accident last year in West Palm. Capital improvements include new flooring in the livestock show arena, fans, and lots of electrical up- grades. All in all we are

definitely in fair mode as a lot of us are right now, and look forward to a funfilled fair. Drop by if you have the chance we would love to see you all.!! Best of weather and have fun to all that are in the plan- ning modes of our spring fairs.
