WHOLESALING

WITH MORE THAN 20 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN PHARMACEUTICAL WHOLESALING, JOHN LAVERTY, REGIONAL SALES MANAGER – SCOTLAND AT ALLIANCE HEALTHCARE UK, IS A WELL-KNOWN AND RESPECTED FIGURE WITHIN THE PHARMACEUTICAL PROFESSION – BOTH IN SCOTLAND AND FURTHER AFIELD. HERE, JOHN TELLS SP WHAT HE BELIEVES 2018 WILL BRING FOR THE INDUSTRY.

SCOTTISH

WHOLESALE – WHAT DOES 2018 LOOK LIKE?

A

lliance Healthcare is encouraged by how 2018 looks for wholesaling in

Scotland. Through investment in 2017, our new Coatbridge Service Centre, with its larger, state-of-the-art, and fully automated facilities, puts us in a fantastic position to support our customers across Scotland.

The location of the Coatbridge site, with its proximity to Glasgow, means we are able to operate more effi cient delivery routes in the region, and reduce our environmental impact by reducing our vehicle mileage.

2018 marks an exciting customer focus for the business, as it continues its ‘doing things differently’ campaign – bringing to life customer-focused initiatives that make doing business with us easier. Following customer feedback, we have invested time and resource to optimise our ordering platform, Alliance Healthcare Direct. We’ve conducted rigorous testing, and can provide accurate and reliable stock status updates every ten minutes.

We have also recently implemented new standard rate Customer Service numbers. In addition, there are now fewer customer telephone numbers in order to make contact simpler and more straight-forward.

Our Customer Service team is now better placed to serve customer needs, with a centralised team, plus we have newly-created Area Customer Care Managers for Scotland. Sharon Hall will be providing bespoke care

to Scottish customers and will be personally visiting customers and supporting them in their business with any issues and queries they may have.

My sales team also wants to get out there and meet you! We recognise that your business has specifi c needs, and you’ll have questions for us that we need to hear fi rst hand. We are unique in having the scale and scope of a large, national business, but pride ourselves in being able to provide you with ‘the local touch’ and an offering that’s applicable to the businesses in Scotland. Delivering the highest possible level of customer care and service are the building blocks of what we do. We will not lose sight of the fact that we need to put the customer - and therefore the patient - at the centre of everything we do. That is why we will be proud to take care of both customer and patient, personally.

COME AND MEET US! We’re holding customer open days in March, where our customers can come and meet the Coatbridge team: the people dedicated to supporting your business and providing the fantastic service we strive for. Your thoughts and opinions matter and will provide us with vital insight into how we can better improve and progress further on our journey of making ‘doing business with us easier’. We welcome the chance to work collaboratively with all of our customers in order to provide the best customer service possible. This open day will be an ideal opportunity to meet the team at

Coatbridge, as well as hear from some of our Senior Leaders about where we see the market heading in the future. Above all, however, it will allow you, the customer, to ask questions, get involved and understand how our business can help your business.

HELPING TO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS SUSTAINABLE

2018 will continue to be a challenging time for pharmacy, and the healthcare sector as a whole – and it’s imperative that your business seeks the support that’s available. Our Alphega Pharmacy team – a virtual network of independent pharmacies - is positioned to offer just that support. With its innovative services and high quality membership support, Alphega Pharmacy UK could help you identify savings and remain sustainable against

the pharmacy funding cuts.

I’d like to take this opportunity to personally add my congratulations to Sally Arnison from Barnton Pharmacy on her MBE in HM The Queen’s New Year Honours List. Sally is a true ambassador for the pharmacy profession.

Scotland is a unique market place with a strong contract and a bright future. Our continued investment in our Scottish Service Centre and a strengthening of our customer- focused approach will mean that Alliance Healthcare will continue to be recognised as the supplier of choice in Scotland. Whether you contact us by email, telephone call or via the Customer Service department, you can rely on the fact that we will continue to take care, personally. •
