Looe Sailing Club celebrate great season

Some 150 sailing members along with family and friends gathered at the Hannafore Point Hotel for the club’s annual dinner and dance.
After the meal Commodore Enys Dan gave a summary of events during the year, thanking everyone for all the effort put into running the club sailing, GP14 National championships and open meetings during the year also to the safety boat
crews for a job well done.
He then invited his wife Janet to join him to present the end of season trophies.
Many thanks go to Sue Dunn for organising the event and to the staff of the Hannafore Point Hotel for all their help and providing an excellent meal.
Music for the late evening entertainment was provided by The Guise, and enjoyed by all.
Trophies were awarded to:
Crews Cup. Mirror, Dan Blewett; Redwing, Joe Palfrey; Enterprise, Daisy Jaycock.
Capsize Trophy: Paul Dunn; Bigfoot, for most damage caused: Paul Dunn; Highest placed Looe boat at Redwing Championships, Jack Pope.
Most Improved Sailor: Tom McLaren; Highest placed Lady Helm, Hannah Staff.
1st Mirror Overall: Archie Hawkins and Jack Stevens; 1st Redwing Overall: Jack Pope and Chris Jackman.
1st Enterprise Overall: Matt and Ivan Jaycock; 1st Laser Overall: Tom Shaw.
Fisherman’s Cup: Archie Hawkins and Jack Stevens; Sailors Sailor: Tom Shaw and Jack Pope (tied on votes cast).
Jack Sargent Trophy for Endeavour: John Crabb; Clifford Adams Trophy for sportsmanship: Cecil DuValle.
David Pengelly Trophy, Ben Crabb; Commodores Trophy: Steve Sargent.
The highest lady helm, Hannah Staff The Capsize Trophy, Paul Dunn Showjumping trio winners at county contest
Showjumpers from Looe have shown they’re the best team in Cornwall at a county contest.
Lizzie Aggies and Kathryn Coleman won each of their respective classes during the Cornish Schools and Colleges Showjumping Competition at
the Pendarves Equestrian Centre, near Camborne.
Fellow Looe student Tegenn Greenaway came third in her class. The three girls were declared the winners when it came to team points.
