Favourite Winter Recipes Shepherd’s Pie


A classic winter warming, quick and easy recipe Ingredients Filling


500g Minced Lamb 1 onion, 2 carrots olive oil


1 tin chopped tomatoes 250ml vegetable stock


Preparation: The Filling Peel and dice the carrots and onion into small pieces.


Heat a large frying pan adding some olive oil, the onion and carrots, cook until soft.


Add the minced Lamb, turn up the heat and brown the meat stirring occasionally.


Drain any excess fluid and then add the tin of tomatoes, the stock and season to taste. Bring this mixture to the boil. Once boiled lower the heat and simmer for approximately 1 hour.


Preparation: The Topping.


Peel the potatoes and chop into quarters. Put them into a pan of boiling water. Boil until soft all the way through.

Bread & Butter Pudding A classic winter warming, quick and easy recipe


Ingredients 100g Sugar


1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 5 slices of bread ready buttered


50g Sultanas 500ml Milk 2 eggs


Method


Preparation: Preheat oven to 190˚c / gas 5. Lightly grease an ovenproof dish.


Mix the sugar and cinnamon. Cut the buttered slices of bread into halves. Layer the bread into the dish adding sultanas and the sugar mix, covering each slice.


Whisk the milk and eggs and pour over the bread. Leave to absorb for 10 minutes.


Bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes until set and golden brown.


Serve with custard or cream and Enjoy!

100ml Semi skimmed milk 1 large knob of butter


Preheat oven to 190˚c / Gas 5 Method

Serve immediately with some fresh brocolli or garden peas. Enjoy!
