Following a thorough interview process, which included an interview panel of children, staff and senior management, Bridge Schools Trust are thrilled to announce the unanimous decision to appoint Mrs Janine Waring as the new head teacher of Looe Primary Academy.
Mrs Waring joins the trust after leading a number of schools in a multi-academy trust spread from Plymouth to Exeter. Her wealth of experience will ensure she’s able to capitalise on the work invested by the previous team, Theresa Fleming and Paul Arnold.
Strong shortlist
‘We had a very strong shortlist of three excellent candidates and we are looking forward to a bright future for Looe Primary, particularly with such an experienced head teacher at the helm. We’re committed to providing high quality teaching and learning opportunities in this, one of our larger schools in the trust. This is an exciting time for both staff and pupils as we look to the future,’ said Bridge
Schools Chief Executive, Adrian Massey
‘Mrs Waring has been chosen for her warm and child centred approach as well as her exceptional knowledge of school improvement, and we feel these attributes will allow her to quickly capitalise on the progress already made at the school,’ said Executive Head Teacher, Louise Gilbert.
Mrs Waring has already taken up her post, following the Half Term break and will spend the next few weeks getting to know pupils and parents alike.
She said, ‘I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with the staff, pupils and parents at Looe Primary Academy. I have received a very warm welcome from all and look forward to improving on all of the great work that already happens at Looe to ensure that we give the children in our care the best possible chances for their exciting futures.
A happy school in a wonderful setting - what more could I ask for?’
