CLUB FOCUS...
Under 8s Broadstone
Under 8s started the season by celebrating the
continuation of their affi liation with Tops Day Nursery. Tops has sponsored the
boys from under 5s and a number of them attended the nursery prior to starting school. Sponsorship has kitted out the three teams; Spitfi res, Rockets, Jets and coaches with the new Nike range of clothing. A huge thank you for their continued support.
After a successful summer of tournaments all three teams have started the season in a confi dent manner. Their attitude and commitment to training has been fantastic and with a strong turnout every week of 30 boys, there is a great foundation for many years of success.
One match stands out so far and that was a clash of both Rockets and Jets. The contest produced a fantastic spectacle with the game producing some great goals, tough tackles and most importantly great sportsmanship. The game was offi ciated by the club chairman and he commented on the high standard of football and the desire for the boys to stay at the club and go on to representing the men’s team one day.
The boys are backed up by a strong entourage of family and supporters. It is not unusual to see 50+ spectators at games. The support of family members is essential to building a great team and without their help before and after games; putting goals up and down and setting out respect lines and corner fl ags the boys wouldn’t be as successful.

Under 9s and Under 11s Girls teams The club was very grateful to receive a grant
delivered by the Football Foundation as part of the FA’s ‘2017 Grow the Game’ scheme, aimed at creating new teams and getting more girls into football. As a result, two new girls teams have formed this season – U9s and U11s.
After starting with just three players in September, U9s now has a strong squad of eight. Despite most of the girls having never played football before, they have made brilliant progress so far, playing superb in their fi rst four matches. U11s has also had a great start to the season, playing some close games and showing great commitment, energy and determination. For two newly formed teams with such positive starts to the season, the girls have shown a lot of potential – watch this space!
Both teams train on a Wednesday evening at Corfe Hills School during the winter from 6-7pm, and play fi xtures on a Saturday morning. We are looking for new players, so if you are interested in joining a fun team, please email
broadstonefc@gmail.com for more details.
