Keeping Safe In Your Home


A presentation was recently held in Broadstone Library, arranged by Annette Brooke, for key members in the community to help spread the word of the great benefi ts of Poole Lifeline Telecare Services can offer.


Poole Lifeline has been set up to provide an emergency contact system for people living at home alone, or for couples who are worried about each other. It is designed to increase independence and safety and peace of mind to families that do not live nearby. A dedicated 24 hour Control Centre is based at Poole Civic Centre, with a team on hand who have strong links to Social Services, to respond to activation of the systems installed.


An array of products are available that activate an installed unit that is connected to the telephone. These include pendants, smoke detectors, door sensors, heat sensors and more, catering for all ages and various disabilities.


A more recent addition to the services on offer is assisted lifting with the use of a Raizer Chair for a person who has fallen, unable to get themselves up. Having been assessed by a trained member of


staff, and clearly not injured, the client can be sat back up without calling the


emergency services. 1,000 calls were recorded last year!
