I confess! I am slightly addicted to playing Minecraft, but for fi ve days this summer holiday I did not even pick up my iPad. The reason? Brownie camp!
For the third year
running I made a cake, packed my bag and went on an adventure with my Brownie friends. This year we were staying in a church
hall near Romsey. Our
theme was Alice in Wonderland. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and then the excitement began! We were all really pleased to see each other and after making up our beds we got ourselves settled in and got into our camp groups before having tea. After the excitement of washing up, we played bingo and had a wash then it was time for bed.
After a good night’s sleep, we had breakfast and found out what our camp jobs were. I had to clean the toilets, which I found out on previous camps was actually great fun. We spent the day playing in the paddling pool and doing art. The one thing that was not as much fun was when a spider crawled on to MY bed that night. This was quickly removed and we put it outside in the rain.
The following morning we went to Marwell Zoo, where we saw lots of different animals – my favourites were the giraffes.
Before we knew it, it was the last day and after a fun-packed craft day we all got dressed up for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. We had a lush tea and my cake. We had such a cool time I cannot wait for next year!!
