Group of Sonoma County Residents Help with Katrina Restoration Project!
This photo was taken in New Orleans with a group of volunteers from Elim Lutheran Church in Petaluma. We were getting ready to head out to work with the Saint Bernard Project( SBP) to work on post Katrina restoration projects. This is the 6th year we have participated with this organization. When I suggested having this photo taken with the Upbeat Times it was amazing how many people in the group I was able to introduce the publication to. The positive concept of the publication was well received! ~ Catherine Winters of Petaluma!

“It is not how long the music last but how much we enjoy.” ~ Lailah Gifty Akita Upbeat in New Orleans!
There were some people living across the river from each other, who feuded constantly. John disliked Clarence with a passion and never passed up a chance to throw rocks across the river at Clarence. This went on for years until one day the Corps of Engineers came to build a bridge across that river. John was elated; he told his wife that fi nally he was going to get the chance to cross over and whip Clarence. He left the house and re- turned in a matter of min- utes. His wife asked what was wrong, didn’t he intend to go over the bridge and whip Clarence?
He replied that he never had really seen Clarence up close and didn’t realize his size until he started over the bridge and saw the sign: “CLEARANCE 8 FT 3 IN”
