The Beer Boys Review ~ The Petaluma Beer Festival!~

Tons of Fun!!

A Smart Choice When enjoying a Festival Like This!

BIG FALL GUIDE 2017 ~ EVENTS, ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD AND More! JOKES & Humor # 5

 By Barry O’Meara & Paul Doyle

Santa Rosa, Ca. ~ There is a “Smart”-er way to get to local beer fests/charitable events. Yes, the SMART train has arrived. With ten stops, you are sure to fi nd one that will get you where you want to go.

The 5th Petaluma River Craft

Beer Festival was my fi rst op- portunity to take advantage of the

SMART train. My experience on the train was fantastic. The seats are comfortable, and the large windows frame the picturesque views. The Smart train fl ows through the county, with excit- ing railroad crossings at traffi c signals; revealing urban art, in- dustrial yards, and rural scenes, against the back-drop of rolling

hillsides. You’re not just paying for transportation, you are also getting entertainment! The Petaluma River Craft Beer Festival is orga- nized by the Peta- luma Chamber of Commerce and Petaluma Valley Rotary.

They

have teamed up with dozens of local sponsors to raise funds and give the com- munity a great festival.

This is

a fund-raising event and 100% of all proceeds are poured back

into the local community and river projects. Besides being charitable, you also have an op- portunity to taste the growing craft beer indus- try

in Sonoma and Marin County. The

is

hosted on the Petaluma River, in a two-block section of Water Street between Western Ave and East Wash- ington. With 37 vendors offering food and bever- ages, this is a great event to mingle with old

friends and meet new ones. Music was provided by “Sugar Moon” for the fi rst set and “Ran-

dy and the Special Agents” for the second set. Sugar Moon is a wine-country swing band, and made for great entertainment and a wonder- ful backdrop to the event. Randy and the Special Agents are a raw, fun blues-band. Nothing goes better with brews than blues! These two amazing bands added to the experience, and rounded out the event. As you mean-

der to the different booths, there was plenty to enjoy.

The tap-

rooms and brew-pubs that donat- ed their brews and tastes, could not bring all they have to offer, but sup- plied enough to encourage you to visit their establishments. Throughout the months ahead I plan to visit as many as I can and sample their fl ights. With so

many brewer- ies in just this county,

I fore-

see a long series of fl ights ahead for the Brew Boys! I have al- ready visited Henhouse, Cooper-

A rich millionaire decides to throw a massive party for his fi ftieth birthday, so during this party he grabs the mic and he announces to his guests that down in the gar- den of his mansion he has a swimming pool with two great white sharks in it. “I will give anything they desire of mine, to the person who swims across that pool.” So the party continues with no events in the pool, until SUDDENLY, there is a great splash and all the guests of the party run to the pool to see what has happened, and in the pool is a man and he is swimming as hard as he can, and the fi ns come out of the water and the jaws are snapping and this guy just keeps on going and the sharks are gaining on him and this guy reaches the end and he gets out of the pool, wet and soaked! The millionaire grabs the mic and says, “I am a man of his word, anything of mine I will give, my Ferraris, my house, absolutely anything, for you are the bravest man I have ever seen. So sir what will it be?” the millionaire asks. The guy grabs the mic and says, “Why don’t we start with the name of the individual that pushed me in!”
